amir and everyone...if anyone is looking for a small co. who will benefit from the apple/msft deal...take a look at MDEA

i know of them thru my investment in PCLE (Pinnacle Systems) which i acquired at $10 3/4 in Feb of this year...PCLE now trading $26...there are similarities between PCLE and MDEA...PCLE, had about $7 in cash and book value of $10.50 when I bought...MDEA closed 4 5/8 yesterday and has listed cash and marketable sec. equiv to $3.75 and book of $4.47...for this cheap...no debt--really not even off balance sheet operating leases...this low valuation is better than any low price to book because of the high cash/mktable secs....both hurt badly by macintosh debacle

MDEA is a leading desktop video mfg...BUT they only make systems for the macintosh (the system of choice for "creative" people)...they were hurt when new product sales did not pan out---this is largely due to the apple uncertainty...they competes agst AVID (INTC made investment in the co.)...there is also ligitation...they are being sued by AVID

the folks at the MDEA board cant figure out why MDEA is trading so close to cash per share and why its valuation vs AVID is so wide...i can understand alittle but the relative valuation is out of whack...MDEA is only followed by 2 analysts....H&Q and piper jaffrey

not a recommendation, but if one is interested take a look

incidentally, i sold PCLE at $16 3/4...so you see i am hesitant to sell winners until i hear bad news to change my thinking...PCLE's got a great consumer video editing product (on computer) for $299 which is causing the share price to increase
