SpyBot S&D << see if this helps >> Long time SpyBot S&D user. I have been having problems with it for the first time ever starting today (following todays automatic XP critical update - which may only be coincidental). If I attempt to open it, it retreats (seemingly minimized) to the systems tray (but if I right click icon in systems tray and "close group" I get a program not responding error before I click to close - which it does. I completely uninstalled it. Cleaned registry with Norton SW. Reinstalled a freshly downloaded copy. Same thing. I disabled firewall protection. same thing. Ran latest AdAware. No problemo. Repeated all above. Same thing. It hangs. Mysterious. - Eric -
