Sure the capital gain exclusion was anticipated about 40 years ago when SV real estate prices started to double every 5 years. In any case, the topic was prop 13’s effect on realestate prices in California.

BTW, you mentioned in a previous post that Prop 13 was a give away by politicians in order to garner votes. Actually, it was a grass roots ballot initiative to control government spending – most politicians and many corporations, who stood to gain from it, were against it.
