Maybe you have not noticed (easy to understand for someone so full of himself) but they already do. The state is called Israel and it was forced.

Arab Israelis are not the same as the Arabs who have lived under occupation, and WHO NOW outnumber Israeli Jews, thus negating any possibility of assimilating them as Israeli citizens. This is one of the primary reasons Israeli leaders since 1967 have not annexed the West Bank and Gaza.

Futhermore, some 75% of Israeli Arabs would rather live in a Palestinian state than in Israel. (maybe you missed that poll) Why? Because they don't really "feel" Israeli. And this would be exactly the case for Jews living under in the Palestinian Authority.. Few would desire to live in the PA, let alone be welcomed by that government or population..

In fact, Jews are so unwelcome in the PA that they aren't permitted to own property, let alone vote..

As for joining up... I did my time... (how about you?) And I have personal friends and colleagues who are CURRENTLY in Iraq... And one day, should the appropriate position arise for me, I may be joining them..

And they understand why they are there, even if you do not.

The Bushies have screwed up the post-war civil affairs rehabilitation of Iraq, no doubt about it. I don't, as of yet, believe it was planned to take such a slow approach for rebuilding Iraq..

But to cut and run now would only lend credibility that the US could care less about the mid-east and its inhabitants (even if that's actually what more Americans feel deep inside)..

But I do concur with the prevalent opinion from many analysts that we probably need to go full force on pulling US troops out of police mode and to bases outside of populated areas.. But that requires expediting turning over day to day security affairs to the Iraqis and standing back ready to provide the "hammer" when needed.
