Jims. You are missing the point on the CanRoys.

You are an American, not a Canadian. Therefore, as a dollar based investor, you should only be working with the trusts that are traded in the US. If you buy them in Toronto, do you know what happens to every monthly distribution you receive?

You get hosed down on the bid/ask spread when that distribution is exchanged into US currency from Lonies. So right away, you're receiving less moolah than if you bot the same trust on a US exchange. Over time those month after month hits add up to some serious money you're giving away unnecessarily.

The foreign exchange dealers love guys like you.<g>

So, it's not just the price of the index. We posted about all the above last year on SD II. I thought everyone knew to include those considerations in their stock selection DD work.
