New hire, Ken Winter and two satellite offices in NW and E, to serve company's military sales operations.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2003--American Technology
Corp. (NASDAQ: ATCO) today announced the appointment of Kenneth Winter
as director of Systems Engineering for its Military Operations
division. Winter will also run the East Coast office for the rapidly
growing division.
Winter recently was the manager of Strategic Technologies at
General Dynamics -- Bath Iron Works, and was instrumental in
positioning LRAD(TM) and NeoPlanar(R) projects for military and
government applications and contracts. He is an electrical engineer,
has served in a variety of engineering sales positions, and is a
retired Navy acoustics analysis and intelligence specialist.
"Ken Winter has the critical ability to engineer systems solutions
for our government and military customers. He will be instrumental in
continuing the development of our Military Operations division as a
total acoustic systems provider. We are thrilled to have him join the
ATC team," said Carl Gruenler, vice president of Military Operations.
"We remain on target to realize more than $1 million in government
and military sales in calendar 2003 and we expect significant revenue
growth in our Military Operations division to continue beyond this
year," said James M. Irish, chief executive officer of American
