I'm wondering what the reaction would be to a monument of the Communist Manifesto, KKK oaths, images of lynched people or tenets of Aum Shinriko in some courtroom? This is just silly and the various Christian religious factions of the U.S. have gotten away with it so long that a repeated injustice against others is elevated to some sort of constitutional right. I see parallels between this and the pre-13th Amendment treatment of ethnic minorities. "We've always done" it is a pretty lame excuse, legally and morally speaking. Six or seven of the 10 Commandments aren't bad ideas, but a secular treatment in the form of a monument is not appropriate in a government court.
