I didn't make up the term freeloaders, Grace.

And notice I am not alone in my criticism of this system. I'll bet if you look at the collective ages of the folks defending the current system in CA, which taxes the young at 5x+ what the elderly/long time homeowners/RE investors pay... vs those that are against it, you'd see a divisive issue wrt people's ages. Me, I am on the border being over 40.

The funny part is the cry of "socialism" from the supporters of the system here. LOL! Hello, socialism is the system WE HAVE. Where arbitrary folks are taxed to support others.

I have a solution to propose.

How about if we lower everyone's tax rate to the rate Warren Buffett pays. That is 1/4 of 1% of the value of his home currently. Nobody should object to this, if lower taxes are REALLY what you are after. Of course this means a lot of services need to close and maybe some schools and libraries. It would be ok with me though, as long as it is fair.

I have never received an adequate answer from anyone here as to your justification for young paying more than older folks for the same house, and I'd like to focus on that issue not peripheral baloney like that diatribe from the guy who bought the house in SJ for 47K in 1978 or whenever. Prop 13 is not a chinese productivity issue, at least not to me! LOL.
