Let's get real. How many nursing home patients actually vote. Most of the elderly who end up in nursing homes are truly ill and unable to care for themselves and rarely vote because they are dieing. The elderly who have little apartments in retirement homes are quite different----most are mentally capable and able to make decisions regarding the welfare of the nation and themselves. If they do vote, they will likely vote the same way they have all of their lives---whether it is dem, repub, or independent---and that's fine with me. mj
