so you like avnx and cien then. Anything else in this area? I agree with that CSFB piece that these are quality companies left for dead, so real returns to be had. What about chipmakers for this sector, is this a dumb question? Does PMCS or AMCC or anybody build chips that these guys use.

I'm not sure if Bob is here, not to speak for him but his style is to buy companies that are left for dead, he did that once before with manugistics in 98 and it was extremely profitable so you never know. The only thing with scmr and to some degree even ciena is that these guys have large cash positions which put a floor on the stock. The best case was VTSS last year, their cash position wasn't great and because of that, the stock was hammered down to .92 (and even below). If it weren't for ciena's cash, they would be trading at 3 now imho.
