I think most Iraqis want democracy only because they see as a vital characteristic of the modern world, not necessarily because they think democracy in itself is an ideal system of government. Are they ready to enter that world? I believe so. I mean, if they're smart enough to develop bio, chemical, and nuclear weapons, they're smart enough to make the land fertile again and forge an self-sustaining economic system.

I don't think most Iraqis see democracy as key. I think you are imposing your values on them. I think what was important to them is getting rid of Saddam and making money in that order.
