Evening all. W98 Second Edition, 4.10.2222A, IE5.50 SP2

This machine is the first in line, goes to a router and using phone line to a second computer in the basement, that one is running ME.

I have been having to reboot the router periodically when I lost Comcast. (Not an uncommon occurence!) Yesterday I lost access, was offline for most of the afternoon. I powered everything off and rebooted the whole setup. Next thing I know though I can't find a server ( and that is as technical as I can get), my Outlook Express can't find a server, my modem has four green lights but no activity light, and a program from Comcast comes and installs itself. I was really upset. I called support about the lack of access and asked them about this program while I had them on the phone. They don't know anything about it. So, how the heck did something manage to get pushed to my desktop and could it have killed my router on the way? I figure the program is genuine and Support.com has been given this contract but I don't like it and I have no clue as to how to ensure my machines stay mine. Help !!!
