I was referring to government manipulation. In the '29 to '32 plunge, not only was there no government market manipulation, but the Fed actually tried a tight money policy. In the '70s secular bear, still no government market manipulation, but plenty of "easy money" - and inflation. Only in the '80s was the PPT born. So if you believe that there is both an "easy money" policy, and some government market manipulation, the analogous bubble and bust is Japan.
