If everyone is invited to the BBQ but the one non-white in the neighborhood, all other things being equal, then that is a form of attack--attack by message. You're hyperventilating again. I started a lengthy response to your message, but I decided to delete it all. The only thing from it I'll keep is to notice the total inconsistency in your "Does that mean that you have to invite your neighbor to your BBQ? Of course not. It only means that nice people avoid attacking other people." Because what you are saying is that either invite somebody you don't like to your party, or your are automatically judged guilty of being not nice and racist and all sorts of terrible things. The word "attack" used to be reserved for things a person does, not things they don't do. Gee. Think of all the people here on SI who don't post to me. Guess you think they're all attacking me. And same with those who don't post to you. Gosh. We're both being attacked by thousands of people every day. What on earth are we going to do about all these not nice, attacking, terrible people??
