He comes from the oil industry.

If Bush had worked at a McDonalds, you know and everyone on this thread knows, you would be accusing him of cozying up to the hamburger business.

What are you......just plain stupid? Half his cabinet is made up a former oil employees. He pulls a first for the US of A and preemptively goes after the nation with the second largest oil reserves in the world. He very quietly lets out non competitive contracts with huge caps to the former employer of some of his cabinet members.

Add the above to the fact that the oil industy gave huge amounts to his political campaigns and that he made major bucks while dubiously employed by a small oil company and what do YOU come up with, party man?

What part of he has strong connections to the oil industry do you not get?

There is no evidence Bush has done ANYTHING to benefit the oil industry since he took office. Anything. Thus, according to your view, we should never have a president who has held a substantial job.

That's right........the contracts let for work in Iraq were anything but questionable in nature! WRONG!

Personally, I would think business experience ought to be a prerequisite to the presidency. The last president we elected who had no business experience ended up running the most corrupt administration in history so that he could line his pockets on leaving office.

The last president had less business experience and yet had one of the best fiscal policies of any president in the 20th century. He was the governor of a very small state and stepped into the presidency with a great deal of competency and professionalism.

The current president was the governor of a large state and he's running the presidency like he's still a governor. He's no better than a slick country boy and he has become a major embarrassment for those of us who still care about this country and its image.

I much prefer someone who has no financial reliance on ANY industry. I think it is obvious we won't have the pardons of criminals up for sale to highest bidder whenever Bush does leave office.

You mean like with Bush I? Don't count on it!
