maybe it's your operating system. winxp and win2k always offer that option. i think w98 does too, but i don't feel like booting over there to confirm.

so the question becomes, why aren't you given the option to save to disk OR open it.

what OS are you running

and the way you are doing it is fine... though i'd like to see you stop using the word "seems", as in, "it seems to have installed".

it's a simple matter to confirm the date of your NAV virus definitions. doing so takes away the "seems" and gives you a yes or no.
