Well, to give the devil his due, Hamas does have a large social welfare organization. Hamas is a smart organization. I knew the PA was hopeless the day I read that all welfare in Gaza (and most people in Gaza live on welfare) that wasn't provided by UNWRA was provided by Hamas; the PA did none of it. Of course I agree that the terrorist wing is not a by-the-way; it is the whole raison d'etre of Hamas.
