<The UN has done NOTHING to legitimize our invasion and military occupation.>

The Iraqi patriots who bombed the UN in Bagdad, are just like the NeoCons. They both believe in a very simple world, Us vs. Them. To NeoCons and Islamists, the world has two kinds of people: people who agree with us 100% and are willing to die for us; and people who we are going to kill if They get in our way. Anybody who thinks they aren't in one of those two groups, any NeoCon or Islamist will persuade them otherwise, using trucks filled with dynamite, or helicopter gunships.

When Giap was organizing his Armed Propaganda Brigades (precursor to the Viet Minh army), during the Japanese occupation, he put a lot of effort into killing the cadres of competing Vietnamese nationalist groups. He wanted to make sure that, when the French returned, the Communists were the only group left, so all remaining nationalists could be gathered into Front groups controlled by the Communists. He targetted Catholics and Buddhists and Trotskyites, and lots of others. This simplified the political and military landscape into Us vs. Them.

In exactly the same way, the Islamists will kill any Crusaders, and not make any fine distinctions between Americans, French, Russians, the UN, civilians, or soldiers. They are all Them.
