The US invasion has zero UN legitimacy right now. When Saddam invaded Kuwait, the same international law spelling out his responsibilities as an invader with an army of occupation applied to Saddam. That in no way legitimized Saddam's invasion of Kuwait. The same applies to the US.

Nothing the UN has done provides a shred of legitimacy to the US invasion of Iraq. UN resolutions spell out our responsibilities as an invader with an army of occupation. We are not acting under the authority of the UN -- no invasion was authorized and no new Iraqi government has been recognized. We are simply an army of occupation, acting on a completely unilateral impulse to invade and conquer.
