There is already disgruntled troops in Iraq.

Don't you think, if you looked hard enough, you could find "disgruntled troops" in any military posting you visited?

I know that was my experience in the military... In fact, when the troops were griping, it was generally a sign that we were training hard enough..

As for police duties, this has been discussed to a considerable extent, and I would concur. We lack sufficient MPs and Civil Affairs elements within the current force structure..

But I also believe we'll gradually see US troops pulled back into cantonments, away from the population, but available to deal with potential military threats and to stand ready to assist Iraqi authorities.
