I should have been clearer. Sorry.

I was writing in the context of our discussions here, which were entirely focussed on non-physical acts.

Obviously, physical intrusions are different. You are, of course, perfectly right about those.

What I was intending to refer to were two aspects relevant to the context of our discussion. One, words spoken to or about a person. Two, refusals to interact, particularly in the context of Karen's hypothetical of a black neighbor not invited to a party when all the white neighbors were. Karen was saying that this was an insult per se. My position is that it is only an insult if the person not invited perceives it as such.

We had not been discussing any physical acts, rape, robbery, etc. I wasn't intending to refer to those.
