Dean has gotten the anti-war vote because he opposed the Iraq War. But he didn't have to vote on it. Also, Dean is a straight-talking populist rabble-rouser. He hit his stride just as Bush was exposed as a real phony. But in the end, Dems should not want Dean to be our standard bearer. We want a man of great stature and can TAKE AWAY the military issues from Bush, not a man who can be Dukakisized. Dean is even more of a Dukakis than Dukakis was. On macho issues, he wont stand a chance against the GOP machine with their 200 million bucks to spend slandering him.
