F5 Networks Experiences Six Consecutive
Quarters of Growth in Server Load Balancing Switch Market

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 2003--

Current Dell'Oro Group Report Reveals That F5
is the Only Vendor Consistently Gaining Market Share
in Layer 4-7 Fixed Switch Market

F5 Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:FFIV), the leading provider of secure Application Traffic Management products, today announced that it has carried out six consecutive quarters of market share growth in the Layer 4-7 (L4-7) Fixed Server Load Balancing (SLB)(a) switch market, as reported in a recent Dell'Oro Group report(b). F5 is the only vendor in the fixed SLB market that is steadily gaining market share quarter-over-quarter.
"We're proud of our steady growth in market share, particularly during this rough economic period," said Dan Matte, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at F5 Networks. "F5's continued growth is an indicator that enterprise customers are not willing to compromise on product capabilities, quality or service as they build their infrastructure and roll out their applications. I'm confident that our products' superior capabilities that offer unique support for these complex applications will continue to fuel our market share growth."
According to the Dell'Oro Group report, F5 holds the No. 2 position in the fixed L4-7 SLB market, with 24.6 percent of the market. F5 has continually demonstrated growth in this market ever since the company introduced a product in this category.
