DavesM, it is all academic. The crude oil in Iraq costs about two dollars a barrel to pump, is light, sweet and and accessible. Oil people say "all you have to do is put a straw in the ground." That's an exaggeration, of course, but not much of one. The Canadian oil may be there but it's not in the same league in terms of accessibility, quality, and strategic and economic value.
