here in NE Tx MY children are having somewhat of the same .... NOT really to the extent that I feel sure you are, but
Mar broke her foot three weeks ago after retiring in July *(for the month only) .... long saga about the Teacher Retirement conflicting with her being able to draw SS if and when we draw it .....
she had to retire .. stay TOTALLY away .. NO visits .. no phone calls .. NO contact with her office for thirty one days and then went back to the same job at half pay ...
they can pull that trick on her cause she is verrrrrrrrry conscientious and thinks of the kids she serves waaaay more than she thinks of herself ......
any way ... third day back she falls and breaks two bones in her right foot ...
falls on the parking lot at 7:00am .... one of her secretaries calls me close to 10am cause they couldn't talk her into going to the emergency room ....
after I get her from the orthopedic doc on crutches about two PM and figure I'm taking her home ...
nope ... got to take her to a "important budget meeting" ...
go to the pharmacy and get some pain pills and return so she can take them and pick her up close to six pm ......
she takes the pill that night and no more ....
says they make her groggy and upset her stomach ..... dang ...
so, I now fix all the meals .. take them to her on a tray .. rigged up a small footstool with two pillows to elevate her foot at the office ... help in into the car, carry her purse, iron her clothes, etc ....... LOL
and, our youngest daughter is due to have a baby (first one for her) next couple of weeks, and Mar has HAD to finish the curtains, duvet, valance, crib bumper pad, etc ... using the left foot to run the sewing machine which I moved to the sun room so she could enjoy the outside view and have her right foot elevated ..... LOL
and of course she is issuing many many many many many orders to me ...
got tired of running my fat little legs off, so I bought two walkie talkie radios .... GREAT IDEA I had, and they have saved me lotsa steps ..... gggggg
and, my doc has been running some tests on me the past couple of months .. got a two night sleep lab with all kinda wires lined up for Thurs and Fri nights .....
so, my children are having "some elderly parent health difficulties" ...... LOL
the spoo market has stayed so sideways that I've come out of retirement (after sixteen-seventeen years) and am gonna build a few spec houses ...
closing on a nice lot tomorrow and will get started as soon as the surveyor marks the four corners .....
I'll be around some here tho ...

I take her to work in the morning, pick her up to go home in the evening in HER car ...
she has trouble getting into either of the Surburbans, and her little es300 is nice and low ... gggggg
and, of course, I have to use a throw over the seat to keep from getting my "construction sweat and dirt" on her leather .... LOL
matter of fact, I just came home to fix her lunch to take to her office |
