Ever watch the movie "Rounders", Elroy? The main plot is that a poker player-gambler has run up a tab to a gangster (appropriately named "KGB", though in this case it should be the Chinese counterpart). At the end of the movie, in order to avoid getting "owned" by KGB, our American hero plays him heads up in a high stakes no-limit hold 'em game. If he looses....he's destroyed. If he wins...he's off the hook (given that he's a reckless gambler, he'll get back on the hook eventually, of course). It's a perfect allegory for where the US is headed. We'll be owned by the Chinese and have to "play them" in a high stakes battle to get off the hook. What guise will that "battle" be in? Don't ask....<NG>
