It's clear the right-wing stifles debate in this country whenever they can. This is because if the facts of their programs were well-known they'd never win another election outside Utah.

It's the tyranny of the noisy minority and their increasing control of the airwaves. Notice how the Hannity types talk over their opponents whenever they are trying to state their case. See how they namecall to stop the debate or ask questions like "Don't you love America?". Notice how the Republican congress stifles debates, even sends Police to arrest Democrats as they huddle to strategize. Notice how air pollution increases are announced during holidays when the press is mainly on vacation. How casualties and problems in Iraq are not reported. How Cheney stonewalls the GAO on his energy papers. How Fox News sues Franken to censor his book. How Bush's people cleansed his military file in Texas. How Hollywood actors are villainzed for speaking out, then they turn around and anoint one to be their new standard bearer. It keeps on going and going and going.

The good thing is, people have begun to wise up and see through the avoidance of debates, facts, specifics. People want to know the truth more and more now, not just the spin. And speaking of spin, O'Reilly's Factor IS spin despite what he calls it. Very often he can be caught spinning away to defend when he or someone like Bill Bennett is just plain wrong. Happens all the time.
