Marquette Signs Marketing and Distribution Agreement for New Novametrix Hand-Held CO2 Monitor
MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 1997--
Product complements new flexible, battery-enabled patient monitors
Marquette Medical Systems announced an agreement to market and distribute the new Tidal Wave hand-held CO2 monitor from Novametrix Medical Systems. It will be an accessory for Marquette's Dash 1000 line of flexible, battery-enabled monitors used during intra-hospital patient transport.
The Tidal Wave system adds CO2 measurements to the current package of vital signs monitoring capabilities in the Dash system, which already includes: ECG, NBP, SpO2, temperature, two invasive pressures, and a built-in, two-channel recorder. ``Tidal Wave is an excellent complement to the Dash monitor,'' says Gary Close, vice president of marketing for Marquette's Monitoring and Information Systems Division. ``We can offer the complete package of parameters required during patient transport in a cost-effective, portable system.''
Novametrix president and chairman, William Lacourciere added, ``We are very pleased that Marquette has chosen the Tidal Wave monitor as part of its portable monitoring offering. Marquette's large distribution channel and their impressive growth in the patient monitoring business significantly expands Novametrix's sales opportunities.''
Marquette's Dash 1000 monitor will be distributed by Marquette's dedicated field sales force covering hospital and alternate care markets, along with the Marquette/Physio Control alliance in the ambulatory emergency medical services market.
The Tidal Wave monitor is a lightweight, battery-operated capnometer that provides the clinician with expired CO2 concentrations, CO2 waveforms and trending. It can be used for all patients from neonates to adults. It is manufactured by Novametrix Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:NMTX), headquartered in Wallingford, Conn.
