I'll tell you what irritates me about this thread. It was set up to celebrate France, not because of a love for French culture, cuisine, or anything else (frankly, that isn't really important to anyone), but solely in appreciation of France's working against the Bush administration's efforts to form an int'l coalition like 1990's to deal decisively(!) with Saddam after 12 long years of economic sanctions, maintenance of no-fly zones and military bases in SA and Kuwait.

So this isn't really a pro-French thread in my eyes, it's a "let's cheer for whoever is working to confound the Bush administration's foreign policy" thread.

I think other people like feel similarly and the irritation comes out as French jokes and mockery of French cuisine, etc.
