Some may recall that in spite of the vast financial crimes associated with the Crash of 1929, only one "great malefactor of wealth" ever served time. And that was nine years later....

Ken Lay is protected from prosecution as long as George Bush and John Ashcroft are in office. Bush likes the bribes, and Ashcroft would prefer to kick in the teeth of visa violators and civil libertarians.
