On quite a different topic, here is a nice review of the Integra court case (related to the patent exemption "solely for uses reasonably related to the development and submission of information" to the FDA) first pointed at here by tuck: aplf.org Reading about this again makes me think that a would-be generic biotech manufacturer would indeed have an exemp?õ to start work before the expiration of the patent.
