ps:- this idea has better chance of taking off in the USA then in Europe.

(i)Less bureaucratic government and tax system.
(ii)More entrepreneurial spirit then Europeans.
(iii)Roads, Railways, and power distribution need big upgrades.
(iv)Has the space. Surely people get a little bored being a slave behind the wheel? Why not drive that truck onto a train and get there at 300+ mph??
(v)Record of technical innovation.
(vi)Already has a proven DC power distribution network.
(vii)Has a history of completing very large projects successfully. e.g. Panama Canal and has done a "New Deal" once already. Get it right this time.

(viii) The USA is in deep financial s**t. That helps develop the will to survive!

/edit..

ps:-

- just some ideas to contemplate while making that boring business trip of say over 100 miles? Discuss with collegues??

- Something to mull over while waiting for that gas tank to fill up -g-
