<Jerry Falwell is not leading attacks on the Empire State Building, and Pat Robertson is not training terrorists in Utah.>
They do, however, support giving billions/year to Israel, and selling them the helicopter gunships used routinely to rocket crowded Gaza streets. They do support our policy of propping up Afghan warlords, like Dostum, who massacre POWs and routinely kill and torture their political opponents.
Terrorism is terrorism, whether State-supported or not. Actually, State-supported terrorism is worse, because it usually has more fire-power, so lots more get killed.
Our Constitution's reach stops at our formal political borders, and does not extend to all the places our power is exercised. It does not extend to our torture center at Bagram Air Base, our concentration camp at Guantanamo, or to any of the motley collection of thugs, Kings, dictators, and Emirs we prop up all over the planet. What "American values" have General Dostum and the Emir of Kuwait assimilated? They seem to have assimilated these good American values:
