I was thinking more of this, from a May 9, 2003 wire:

If the proportion of the AV-1 diamonds in all sieve sizes is roughly one-third of the level at Snap Lake, it would not be unreasonable to hope for a diamond content of about 0.5 carat per tonne, or perhaps a bit more, should AV-1 prove to have a coarser distribution than the Snap Lake rock. All that is encouraging, but there are often rather large margins of variability in the results from such small samples, which could skew the results significantly.

The sieve size comparisons are always revealing, if used with the usual cautions.

Regards,

WillP
