re : USEG

Sergio,
coalbed methane is part of an "alternative energy" reserve which has proven to be hard to tap economically. since I'm not a tree hugger I'm looking for a business case (there are similar story stocks out in Canada) which I can't see at the moment.. In addition to that they still seem to mine Uranium. That seems to be a business again with some kind of unexpected future (I predict a surge in nuclear energy plants due to emission reduction plans)

Also USEC seems to be some kind of "holding" sicne they hold some majority stake - I saw PoGo being mentioned and NorthWest Gold which holds some gold properties (NWGD.OB). Moreover they seem to carry a big amount of real estate property on their books which they now look to divest.

see - PR August,7 : "I look forward to concluding this agreement with The Cactus Group," stated Keith Larsen, President of U.S. Energy Corp. "This sale is consistent with our previously stated goals to sell off the non-core assets of U.S. Energy Corp. and Crested Corp. and increase our efforts in the development of the Companies' coalbed methane assets," concluded Larsen.

valuation ratios are not cheap either.. all in all very foggy - an unusual operation, hard to see thru..
