Yes, but is that our role?

The best proven way, in a nuclear era, of turning totalitarian regimes into democratic ones seems to be by example. It is a long and slowly painful process, but extremely effective. We need to find a way of demonstrating to their people the advantages of capitalism and democracy, without setting ourselves up as an adversarial 'threat' that their government can use as justification for their oppression.
