Funny stuff, although the rest of the world, including most US academics, talk mostly of that center-based-consensus-party to be able to have a lot of funny small parties. Those that activate the voters using any of a long series f-funny methods, not a word on that either in this CA-debate.

It is a tradegy as it makes it possible to have much funnier individuals than actors, mud-wrestlers, rock and pornstars, beauty queens, even regular village-idiots and stand-up-comedians in congress.
(however, I have no experience on anti-abortionists, although one was elected in Sweden)

However, it is interesting that the governor-elections seem to be one, maybe the only, way to reform the US extreme version of the two-party system. (some also claim that the presidential elections would be a possibility, but I doubt them, I trust the fact that the elections are impossible to monitor, even more since it seems to become a matter of some software, communications and touch-screens, and absolutly no paper-trail)
