Tejek, What you have posted is very true. We needed to make the investments in our country, to keep the economy moving forward, and this administration has not helped in that matter. They have sold out the states and the local governments. I happen to know that many local governments are slashing positions and services. One of these crucial areas is local building departments. I know of several jurisdictions that have pushed their review and approval times from several weeks for the process to several months, and this because of staff cuts. Building permits are being held up on every project, and this in turn further bogs down the economy as construction job creation is being slowed and even stopped. We should have been investing in our economy, infrastructure, even homeland security. Instead we are conducting a billion dollar a day war. This war does not stop a container ship with a nuclear bomb on board from entering one of our harbors. It does not stop a determined foe from hijacking an airliner and crashing it into a building. Isn't this what we are trying to defend against? How does this war in Iraq do that? Orca
