You are right, of course. However, Carl Rove knows that image is more important than substance in this age.

For instance, there is apparently a made-for-TV movie coming out soon on 9/11. It is going to totally re-create the events of that tragedy, and turn Bush into the hero of the day, rather than the fool sitting around reading about goats that he actually was. The movie will be fantasy, but a large percentage of the population won't know that, or care. They'll like to think of the President as a hero.

We have to do what we can to destroy this illusion.

Image is everything. Illusion is the tool of the politician today.
