anita bryant parkster-

i saw him on C-SPAN.

he exudes something that touches great hope in me.
something that moves me to help him succeed. i haven't
felt that with a politician since 1968. it reminded
me of going to see bobby kennedy when i was a
student at UNM. he came to speak on campus when
he was running for the democratic nomination for
president. he was full of idealism and believed
in the power of the people to rise above the civil
unrest and injustices that had seemed insurmountable
before he offered to carry that flame for us.

it was so promising and empowering for the disenfranchised
peon americans like me.

a couple of months later he was dead. what a loss of hope.
it was devastating.

i get those same feelings of hope for the country
and the world when i hear dean talk about the future
we can build together as caring, compassionate people.

and, from experience, i twinge at the thought that he's
the only one talking like this. my heart remembers
that one bullet dispatched by someone who's gotten too
rich from the present policies of american politics to
be able to stand what he might lose can snuff out the
light for millions.

the bush administration has already demonstrated that
they think assassination is an acceptable political tool.

but no matter the outcome, it's a worthy road to travel
and i'm supporting him all the way to the grave or the
whitehouse, which ever comes first.
