Since our national interests are deeply involved in making a success of Iraq, our tolerance levels are going to be waaaay higher than the UN. Just look at the UN's track record - they cut and run quickly at the first sign of danger. It is against their MO to stay in Iraq now, to their credit. Remember that Sergio de Mello's dying words were "don't let them pull out" - he knew better than anybody what the first UN reaction would be.
