I have just watched yet another blurb on the insane man who killed on Aug. 27/2003. Why, why, why?

This sort of insanity has existed since before we all had tails, of course. But what lessons can we glean from it?

Now, he was obviously in terminal pain. He could no longer enjoy being alive and aware. That is fine. It comes to most humans sooner or later. But how do we account for his need to create death and pain in others before he exits? Surely, he needed to get "even" in measurement of pain (which is where all "justice" basically derives).

I wonder, though, could society not offer a cyber forum of "justice" so that such troubled people would not feel the need to hurt and destroy others before they fled the scene? Such a person could rush to the State Room or State Cubicle...and proceed to kill and torture whoever they wished. They could then kill themselves or (feeling somewhat relieved) they could decide to stay in the world.

It is too bad that society does not offer such an aggressive outlet now. We can easily create cyber environments and people. I think it could save lives.
