Effective liberation of the Iraqis can only happen by the involvement of Iraqis. And he's also right that for a long time we supported a brutal Saddam for our own purposes. What is it you're so bent out of shape over? Because he seems to be encouraging the defeat of the US in Iraq? By the way, here's a minor nitpick: De Genova teaches at Columbia, not NYU. After I posted, I suspected I had a made a mistake but didn't have time to check it out. Thanks for the clarification. ted
