"Anyone have an opinion as to whether it is better, or just as good, to upgrade to Win2000 from Win Me, or do a clean install"

clean install

you don't want any remnants of winme left on your pc when you migrate to w2k.

they are very different platforms, or kernels

in fact, i was so in doubt about the feasibility of upgrading that i googled and check this...

"Because Microsoft does not support an upgrade from Windows Me to Windows 2000, Compaq does not recommend or support upgrading from Windows Me to Windows 2000. Please refer to the following Microsoft articles for additional details when deciding whether to perform this unsupported upgrade or a clean installation of Windows 2000."

i knew there was a good reason why i felt so opposed to the idea of upgrading <g>

good luck
