Regime change under Clinton explicitly ruled out an invasion and was limited to efforts to fund groups to overthrow Saddam from within -- a completely ineffective policy that got lots of nice people killed. Regime change under Bush morphed into the Bush Doctrine of unilateralism. We went from a stupid policy with no balls to an even more stupid policy -- only this time with the pretense of having big balls. The truth is, unilateralism is the chicken way out. Real leadership is hard work. Unilateralism is the "easy way out".
