tejek, Totalitarians are a fairly clever lot. They understand that political control isn't a matter of convincing the entire population of the righteousness of the domination of the few. The Bushies realize that they only have to sell the "Big Lie™" to the average un-informed, harried and disinterested member of the general populace. The dictators never fear the intelligentsia, such as is witnessed on SI valiantly attempting to get people to understand the truth. No, dictators and dictator-wannabees like Bush know that they only have to have a loyal Party, a contented Police Apparatus and a cowed public in order to engage in humanity's most heinous crimes. The fact that we few here wail about the injustice of the naked aggression of Bush in Iraq, or the destruction of children's futures by imposing carcinogens in their air by means of pollution is of no consequence to the fascists/Nazis/Marxist Right. They don't care what we think, because they know that, in general, America isn't a thinking nation.
