how about django reinhardt?... if you haven't heard, check out that movie 'sweet and lowdown' with sean penn for a kind of overview... ...had a double album set once; django reinhardt with violinist 'stephan grapelli'... made a cassette and listened to it over and over again... great stuff... and django only had two fingers or somesuch on the fretboard... crippled hand...
