It'll be interesting to see how far the UN Security Council falls for Bush & Co line of bullshit this time. Kofi Annan wants in on the Iraq operation in order to enhance his own prestige, but he won't be sending any soldiers or money. Will anyone else?

It appears to me Bush & Co are getting very very desperate to find an escape route from the Iraq mess. It hasn't worked out for them politically and it shows every sign of getting worse before getting disastrous. Dragging the UN in might provide enough smoke for them to sneak out the back door, proclaim victory (the way they proclaimed the end of the war)and move on to more lucrative operations--ones that don't endanger Dubya's politcal health the way the Iraq fiasco has.
