Nixon......masterminding the Dem. Headquarters break in; McCarthy......of instigating a withhunt and falsely accusing other Americans of treason. Neither was "found guilty" of those things. Esp. Nixon because there is little to suggest that he masterminded any break in. (But a lot to suggest that he tried to cover it up later). You do not have to go to trial to be guilty of a crime. You don't have to go to trial to BE guilty, you do to be found guilty. Tim
