Dear Mr. Lynch, the author of 'Taking Arabs Seriously'-

< "the bottom has fallen out of Arab and Muslim support for the United States.">

In 1998 when Clinton the ‘father of all moderators’ was in the office Bin Laden issued a fatwa against the US and its allies, that fatwa would indicate to Mr. Lynch when the bottom had fallen out of Arab and Islamic world, this rage of impotence has pre-occupied Arab<Turkish-Islamic> mind sine they lost the race of supremacy on gates of Vienna. These are very deep issues and kindly don't trivialise them with this very banal kind of superficial political analysis of liberal mind. Mr. Lynch you may like to know that following acts were perpetrated under very conciliatory Clinton administration?

AUGUST 1996 DELCARATION OF WAR

-- On or about August 23, 1996, Usama bin Laden signed and issued a
Declaration of jihad (holy war) from Afghanistan entitled, "Message
from Usama bin Laden to his Muslim Brothers in the Whole World and
Especially in the Arabian Peninsula: Declaration of Jihad Against the
Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Mosques; Expel the
Heretics from the Arabian Peninsula."

FEBRUARY 1998 FATWA AGAINST AMERICAN CITIZENS

-- In February 1998, Usama bin Laden and his close associate, Ayman al
Zawahiri, endorsed a fatwa under the banner of the "International
Islamic Front for Jihad on the Jews and Crusaders." This fatwa,
published in the newspaper, Al-Quds Al-Arabi, on February 23, 1998,
stated that Muslims should kill Americans - including civilians --
anywhere in the world where they can be found.

MAY 1998 FATWA

-- On or about May 7, 1998, bin Laden associate Mohammed Aftef sent
Khaled al Fawwaz a letter discussing the endorsement by bin Laden of a
fatwa issued by the "Ulema Union of Afghanistan" which termed the U.S.
and its followers. The fatwa was subsequently published in Al-Quds
Al-Arabi.

BIN LADEN ENDORSES THE NUCLEAR BOMB OF ISLAM

-- On or about May 29, 1998, bin Laden issued a statement entitled
"The Nuclear Bomb of Islam," under the banner of the "International
Islamic Front for Fighting the Jews and Crusaders," in which he stated
that "it is the duty of Muslims to prepare as much force as possible
to terrorize the enemies of God."

When was the last time US enjoyed any Arab or Muslim support? Your article is written on totally wrong premises and fairytale assumptions! Was it when Khomieni took the diplomats as hostages in late seventies and called US the great Satan or when millions of Muslims were saved from total annihilation in Bosnia and Kosovo!

Help of US in humanitarian causes to help Muslims has never been appreciated or acknowledged, Ladenism is Sunni extremist manifestation of Shiite revolution unveiled by intolerant forces of medievalism, the theme within the Islamic world is and has been ‘murg bey americka’ the central plank of the article is totally misplaced if read in context of contemporary history, appeasement and looking in other direction caused 911. Usama bin Laden, leader of the terrorist organization Al-Qaida, was charged in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the U.S.
embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

These attacks resulted in the deaths of more than 200 people, including 12 American citizens, and injuries to more than 4,000 individuals, among whom were Muslims under a very benign Clinton administration. A summary of the facts of this terrorist act can be found on the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's internet web site:
www.fbi.gov/majcases/eastafrica.summary.htm

Unable to reconcile with development of logic, reason and science the nation of Islam has been trying to find what went wrong since fall of Granada!! Dear Mr.Marc Lynch you need 101 lessons in the basic fundamentals of this struggle between forces of evil and development. Please stop this self flagellation and wake up the vandals are on the doors.

With best regards,

Iqbal Latif
